TALENT SHOW 2024

MAMA AFRICA IN PARTNER WITH BUNDILO FOUNDATION.

Talent Show 2024 in Mama Africa was supported by Claudia and the Bundilo foundation. The event theme was to bring people in Mathare together to showcase their talents, eat together and get a free medical check-up from Afya Mtaani a dispensary hospital supported by Claudia.

Prior to the event, Claudia and Joseph of Mama Africa came up with materials for the event. 150 T-shirts were printed for the participants, food stuffs were bought, stage and sound were installed, there were also free medical camp from Afya Mtaani with professional doctors on board.

On 18th of August 2024, was the event day, the weather was favourable, it was sunny and cool in the evening, people passing by the event got interested, children, young women and men, old people, there was an Mc who was hyping the function at one-point Zizzou a youth in Mathare took the microphone and hyped the stage. Many people showed up.

Inside Mama Africa on top there was Afya Mtaani with two doctors Eunice and Kedwaro, they were observing and treating the people who had issues related to health. Outside there was a dancing competition going on, Joseph showcased taekwondo skills with his team.

At one point our dear Claudia danced to the songs played by the DJ with the little children on stage.

Some of the people checked by the doctors were 160 persons, presented cases that were easily managed at home, they were given medication, young children were dewormed, there was counselling done.

At around 1 pm, food was served. Beans, rice, potatoes, cabbages and water. As the event continued gifts were also given.

One would see the happy faces of children and the networking going on between the participants and the people from the community. The printed T-shirts were given to the participants.

The Ubuntu spirit was practiced at some point whereby Claudia and Joseph hands shook physical. Joseph representing Kenya and Claudia representing Germany.

The medical camp stopped at 4pm, the medical team got many appointments to follow up in their clinic.

The event was captured by a camera man who took good videos and photos of the activities in the event. Our dear Claudia and Joseph gave speeches and vote of thanks.

The event basically brought people together through networking. I thank the Bundilo foundation and Mama Africa Center for coming to us with this event.
